9 Story - Kids

Kami, one of Barney's youngest friends, has trouble keeping up with the other kids and she's tired of always being last.  She's not having a very good day...until Barney and his friends point out that a caboose (like the one in their park) is the last car of the train; where the conductor sits.  To help make Kami feel better, the kids make Kami "Conductor for a Day."

All Aboard

When Tony brings his kite to the park to show his friends, it accidentally blows into the branches of a tree!  While waiting for a breeze to blow the kite down, Barney, Baby Bop and the kids play games about "up" and "down"-in hopes of getting an idea to bring the kite down.  Finally, after some inspiration from a "hopping mad" Baby Bop that Tony gets a great idea to retrieve the kite.  All in all, ANY day can have its "ups and downs"-but thanks to Barney and his friends, today is special!

Up, Down, and Around

A tea party planned by the children turns into a fun opportunity to reinforce lessons about good manners!  Throughout the day, Baby Bop is given helpful advice-and takes special delight when Barney encourages the kids to put on a comic presentation of "The Floodledoops"-a humorous lesson about bad manners!  There's a lot for Baby Bop to remember-but BJ is there to help her, and Barney and the kids are there to make it a day of tea-riffic fun!

Tea-riffic Manners

Barney and the kids help Mr. Boyd prepare his dog Bingo for a trip to the veterinarian for a check, while learning lessons about caring for dogs at the same time. Meanwhile, BJ is searching for his missing baseball, which he suspects was buried by Bingo. Other visitors to the park include Miss Duffy, a sight-impaired friend of Barney's who introduces the children to her guide dog, Kellie.

Puppy Love

A day of imaginative play and fun for Barney and his young friends is kicked off by the arrival of a variety of boxes from the "Enjoy-Your-Toys Company."  Surprisingly, every box is empty!  Barney explains that ordinary boxes can become great toys with the use of a bit of imagination-and soon everyone is engaged in crafts, games, and fantasy play.  Barney and his friends discover that ordinary boxes help make for an extraordinary day of fun!

Bunches of Boxes

After playing with "Stop" and "Go" signs with Angela, Baby Bop leaves to direct some traffic of her own! Meanwhile,Barney and the kids enjoy a costume parade, a game of "Musical Stop & Go," and some very vigorous body movement. Out in the park, Baby Bop stops a police officer, a dog, and attempts to stop a bird, who flies on about its business.

Stop! Go!

The kids have put together a "Caboose Color Collection" which showcases the primary colors-red, yellow and blue. Barney and Baby Bop enjoy songs and games suggested by the colorful objects and when Baby Bop donates her "yellow blankey" to the somewhat sparse "yellow collection," the search is on for a "blankey substitute!" With a bit of initiative-and the magic of imagination-the "yellow collection" soon gains enough exhibits to allow Baby Bop to retrieve her beloved blankey.

The children are surprised to learn that playing games and having fun in the park is great exercise. Baby Bop is happy to learn that not only is she exercising while she plays, but exercise will make her grow big and strong. When a light rain shower moves everyone inside, they learn that there are plenty of ways to exercise indoors. They also learn that their bodies need healthy food as well as plenty of exercise to help them grow.

Play for Exercise!

Barney and the kids are excited because five of Mr. Boyd's brass-playing buddies are putting on a show in the park tonight! Angela is learning to play the trumpet and knows that it takes a lot of practice. BJ arrives and the group visits the caboose, where Mr. Boyd has set up a collection of different brass horns. Finally, it's back out to the park to hear the brass quintet play two tunes-with Barney, Mr. Boyd, and BJ all playing along!

Come Blow Your Horn

While Barney has fun with his friends every day, there's something special about making a brand NEW friend! When Mr. Boyd's niece, Colleen visits the park, she's eager to make friends with the other kids, but being the "new kid" isn't easy. Fortunately, Barney is there to gently guide the kids through a series of fun activities that make it easy for Colleen to go from "new kid" to "new friend!"

A New Friend

Tony shares a box full of numbers that he made with his dad. He is showing them off when a gust of wind blows them all away. Barney and the kids decide to go on a number hunt. They soon find Baby Bop and their hunt takes the entire group all over the park and inside the caboose. They play "Number Limbo" and eat "Six Shake Pudding." Finally, Barney and the kids find all of Tony's numbers and have fun along the way learning about numbers!

Numbers!  Numbers!

Angela is in the park to release her turtle after observing him with her classmates in school.  Barney and the children discuss the meaning of in and out after observing the turtle going in and out of his shell. BJ and Baby Bop arrive, and all continue to discover the "ins" and "outs" all around them!

This Way In, This Way Out!

It's a rainy spring day, and the children can be found inside painting and creating. Barney arrives, explains the differences amongst the seasons, and suggests playing outside in the rain.  The rain is soon replaced by sunshine and a rainbow-which prompts favorite springtime activities like blowing bubbles, enjoying nature, having a picnic, following ants, and waddling like ducks.  The children know that any season of the year is fun with Barney as a friend!

Spring Into Fun!

It's always fun to share a day with Barney-but it's also important to learn how to "play it safe!"  Baby Bop, wanting to be a good helper, has been attaching adhesive strips to her frustrated (and uninjured) brother, BJ. Barney reminds her that bandages are for real boo-boos; he shares lessons with the kids about safety rules for playgrounds and parks-while still having fun! When BJ trips and gets a real boo-boo, Baby Bop is happy to help!

Play It Safe!

Barney and his friends play hopscotch-with a twist. Whitney is learning about triangles at school, so Angela created Triangle Hopscotch to help reinforce "triangles." The children go on a triangle hunt, create art projects using triangles, and even eat triangle-shaped S'mores on the pretend campout that Barney provides. Who would imagine that Barney could make triangles so much fun?

Three Lines, Three Corners

It's the day of the bike parade. But Nick has had a bike accident that leaves his bike in need of repair by Mr. Boyd. Barney helps Baby Bop and the children learn all about bicycles-and that they are a wonderful way to exercise and have fun. When Nick's bike is repaired, the bikes are decorated, Barney adds a surprise touch, and everyone is ready to roll!

A Parade of Bikes

Beth has invented a brand-new holiday called "Happy Day," in which everyone gets to make a wish for something which will make them happy-and everyone else tries to make that wish come true!  Barney and the kids discuss feelings and facial expressions before moving on to the serious business of having fun. BJ enthusiastically joins in the activities as wishes are fulfilled.

It's A Happy Day!

The children are invited to a family picnic in the park, but don't know who invited them. The invitations instruct them to bring a family treasure, so each child has something special with them. Barney helps lead a discussion about families. The children discover that Barney sent the invitations; they are pleasantly surprised to see that he has invited their families to the park.  Another fun day with Barney!

My Family and Me

A "too hot" afternoon becomes a "totally cool" day when Barney introduces his friends to the wonders of water. A cool drink on a hot day leads to a discussion that water is important for drinking, for playing, for plants and flowers, for brushing teeth, for making lemonade, and for swimming. With Barney's help, the children, but especially Barney, make a huge splash in a real swimming pool!

Splish!  Splash!

Although the park may be a home away from home for Barney and his friends, BJ wants to build his own "totally awesome, completely cool" house. While BJ works on his house, Barney and the children learn all about houses and homes. BJ finishes his house, but soon realizes he's forgotten to build a room for his sister, Baby Bop. Barney reminds everyone that it's a family and loving friends that make a house a home!

BJ's Really Cool House

While Barney and the children wait for Mr. Boyd's new fountain to be delivered, they take time to explore and enjoy all areas of the park.  A game of "I Spy" reveals a friendly bunny and some butterflies take a surprising interest in literature! Although the fountain isn't quite what everyone expected, Barney knows just what to say and do to assure that this day-like all days in the park-will turn out perfectly.

A Fountain of Fun

Barney, Baby Bop and the kids learn about "on" and "off" while playing games together. Silly hats and fanciful footwear provide fun from head to toe. Dressing Baby Bop's teddy bear in pretend-play costumes sparks their imaginations for some tee-rific fun that's hard to turn "off!"

On Again, Off Again

The children are bringing toys to the park to donate to Mr. Boyd's toy drive. They decide to have fun playing with some of the toys one last time. Sharing a delicious snack and acting out a special story about sharing help to convince Baby Bop about the merits of sharing-so much so that she shares one of her favorite toys and feels great about it!

Sharing Is Caring!

Unfortunately, the park's friendly painter, Miss Jo, has lost her cat, Cody. While Barney and the children spend the day helping her find her cat, they have fun learning about domestic and exotic cats and how to take care of pets. Thanks to Barney and the kids, it turns out to be a purr-fectly wonderful day!

Here Kitty, Kitty

Mario is trying to write his very own fairytale, but he needs everyone's help exploring the world of fairytales so he can get ideas for his story. With Barney's guidance, the kids act out some of their favorite tales which include a magic fish, helpful elves and a wolf. Mario is soon inspired to write a story brimming with imagination and his friends can't wait to read it. In the end-they all live happily ever after!

Once Upon a Fairy Tale

It's a hot day in the park and throughout the day, Barney and the children learn about hot and cold. Eating at the 'Just Right Restaurant' teaches Baby Bop about foods that are too hot, too cold and just right-but the fun really begins when Barney turns the playground into a winter/summer wonderland. And what better way to top off a hot day than with delicious ice cream!

It's Hot!  It's Cold!

When Sarah accidentally spills red paint into blue paint, a mess turns into a 'perfectly purple' day. Fun abounds when the kids paint pictures, make purple flowers and plan a special purple party for their friend, Colleen. Thanks to some special Barney magic, it's a purple party surprise for everyone!

A Perfectly Purple Day

It's a nice, sunny day in the park and Barney and his friends are having some fun. Beth is tired because she stayed up late at a sleepover, so they decide to have their own sleepover inside the caboose. Outside in the park, Barney uses his magic to create 'night' during the day, and the kids discover that nighttime has special sights and sounds all its own.

Day and Night

An impromptu 'toy piano' concert in the park leads to a pair of surprises in the caboose-a previously unseen piano and Bingo the dog apparently playing the piano. These twin mysteries are soon solved by Mr. Boyd, and the children learn all about the piano when they play games, listen to real pianos and even play a little themselves. The real key to happiness is an exciting day of fun and musical discovery with Barney and his friends!

Play Piano With Me!

After a brief misunderstanding, BJ realizes that he does have many special friends. The kids present him with a surprise they made especially for him to show they really care. All ends well and they end the day together having lots of fun playing baseball in the park-and Jackson surprises them all!

A Picture of Friendship

While playing a game of Hide and Seek in the park, Baby Bop realizes that she can't be the one to count to ten because she doesn't know how-so Barney and the kids jump right in to help her. A trip to a make-believe market and a magical parade of numbers help to keep her motivated so that she's soon ready to play 'Hide and Seek' and successfully count to ten. While having so much fun, the kids learn an important lesson, too-you can't go wrong when you have friends to count on!

A-Counting We Will Go

After a playful session with building blocks, Nick can't help but notice that he's always the littlest of Barney's friends. Barney assures him that he's growing a little bigger, and together they have fun discovering BIG and little things in the world around them. By the end of the day the kids have learned that BIG or little, they are all wonderful just the way they are!

A Big Little Day

The kids are excited about an International Fair being held in the park. Before the fair opens, they have fun touring the world with Barney who manages to surprise them in some fashion at each stop. After making their way around the world, Barney and his friends prove that kids aren't really so different no matter where they live!

A World of Friends

Barney and the kids have a fun, safe day playing together. They create a neighborhood of block buildings and figures representing favorite neighborhood places, friends and community helpers.  Their pretend play teaches them about their community and the people that help them live safely and happily there.

Who's Your Neighbor?

Barney and his friends join forces to help Nick with his homework and have fun at the same time!  His assignment is to find 'squares' in his daily life, and the kids and dinos join in the fun of searching for hidden squares-both inside and outside. A boot kickin', banjo strumming square dance and a surprising 'square' meal add to the excitement. After a day with Barney and his friends, Nick's homework is in great shape!

Squares, Squares Everywhere

Mario and BJ enjoy playing with their special toy cars in the park. After a pretend ride in Barney's imaginary car, the kids have fun playing with some toy cars and busses in the caboose.  Mario has a great idea for making their very own bus out of the large boxes outside the tool shed.  They drive it around a pretend neighborhood set up the park where Barney and BJ have some surprises in store for them.

Let's Go For A Ride!

Anger is an emotion that every child experiences, and on this particular day it seems that everyone in Barney's world is mad. Barney encourages all of his young friends to find good ways to express and deal with their angry moments-like talking about angry feelings, pounding on clay, and crossing their arms and shouting, "I'm mad!" A play about "Goldilocks and The Three Bears" helps BJ and Baby Bop to calm down after their heated sibling confrontation.

That Makes Me Mad!

Every day with Barney is fun-but today is stuuu-PENDously special: it's Barney's birthday! His friends decide to throw a party and BJ and Baby Bop arrive with party supplies to help prepare for the festivities. Jackson is inspired by their assortment of handmade presents and hurries home in search of a very "special" gift for Barney. While waiting for his return, they play party games, sing songs and open presents.

It's Your Birthday, Barney

Barney and the children spend the day preparing for a performance for their friends in the park.  BJ has trouble deciding what talent he'll perform in the show, but when he's reminded to just be himself, he discovers a talent that rocks the park!

It's Showtime!

The children have worked together to make a new birdhouse-but when Barney arrives, they learn that the lucky bird will be having lots of company. A tour of the park leads the children to discover that many animals already make their homes in the park. Mr. Boyd introduces the group to Sally the duck, tells of a hard-to-find owl who makes the park his home, and shows the group a real turtle.

At Home in the Park

Happy, sad, or mad, Barney and his friends discover that feelings aren't bad. The children have fun making masks to show what they're feeling on the inside. While Baby Bop and BJ learn how to talk about their feelings after an argument. Everyone finds their feelings change while singing, dancing, exercising, and being with friends.

Everybody's Got Feelings

A special project provides the perfect opportunity for Barney, Baby Bop and BJ to learn about love and relationships the "heart" way as they make a "Friends and Family Tree." Songs and games provide a fun way to remind them that playing together, being helpful and showing kindness are all ways of being nice to those we love and care about. With Barney's help, Baby Bop and BJ discover there are many people we love and care for and who care for us!

Caring Hearts

Barney brings the music! Making their own musical instruments, Barney and his friends enjoy the thrill of becoming a real marching band! They learn about many different instruments that bring music to your ears!

"Simon Says" Barney has a fun time playing with the children in the park. As Baby Bop, BJ, and the children learn ways to move their bodies through dancing, playing games, and acting out "The Tortoise and the Hare." Get moving and grooving with Barney and his friends!

Welcome to the neighborhood! Anna has just moved to the neighborhood and is missing her old friends. Barney and his friends help her discover that moving is an adventure with new places to explore and new friends to meet.

Safety first! After learning about fire safety when a firefighter visits the caboose, Barney and his friends are inspired to do a little "safety inspection" of their own. Baby Bop helps her teddy bear take a bath, BJ's accident shows why you should only skate outside, and saying "be careful" is a good way to tell someone how much you love them!

Home, Safe Home

Barney and his friends have a "wheel good fun" day learning about cars. Barney creates a colorful, kid-size car, the dinos learn about seatbelt safety, and everyone discovers there are many different styles of cars.

On the Road Again!

Time for a check-up! Barney helps his friends discover the world of doctors and dentists as they learn about healthy habits like brushing teeth, getting checkups, eating healthy foods and getting exercise.
