Gender Diversity Improving in Boardrooms but Racial Inclusion Lags Behind, Says Expert

Linda Akutagawa, chair of the Alliance for Board Diversity, the gender makeup in Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies saw some progress in 2020 when it comes to white women, but for racial inclusion, there is still more work to do. She did note that while African American representation in boardrooms fell early in 2020, she cited a report showing a 200 percent increase in Black Americans filling new board seats following the summer of protests since the killing of George Floyd by police.
